It is a fast-growing village on Lake Michigan between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee. As of 2004, it did not have sidewalks. Pleasant Prairie is located at 423220N, 875213W (42.538820, -87.870229)GR1.

The television series That '70s Show is often thought to be set in the fictionalized form of this village. They refer to it as "Point Place, Wisconsin." In addition, there are many other local references -- for instance, a specific episode had them traveling to the "only drive in theatre in the state," which was not far away. The Keno Drive In Theatre, a classic drive-in, lies just on the border of the town.
